CALGARY , ALBERTA . Matthew Todd Paproski, President of TVnewmedia.com says “Please watch our new, local TV show! We want record ratings and web hits to show the world how important wildlife is to all Albertans”.
Host Paproski says “this labour of love is due to the passion of my family, crew and associates, who have inspired me to create a uniquely Western Canadian show for youth and family. It is like a Sports Illustrated TV special, mixed with National Geographic and Crocodile Hunter. It has amazing educational potential in many markets”.
Bill McGowan of Distribution ACCESS says, “Wildlife Wranglers is a very good concept, with the filmed version finding markets to television, while the video and DVD versions will have strong interest in schools, public libraries and consumer markets. We will be able to provide interconnections between our television broadcasts, web presence and deliverable components that will positively impact the revenue potential of the programs in all markets”.
Carrie Schafer, Community Development Manager for the College of the Rockies , says “I am pleased to support Matthew to bring Wildlife Wranglers and develop wildlife educational opportunities. I am excited to partner in creating some joint educational initiatives to complement the project. We feel it has high value for community development in terms of education, safety and tourism”.
Ken Fung, Program Director, Computing and Information Systems, Continuing Education, University of Calgary , says “I look forward to working with Matthew in applying our students knowledge to this project. We look forward to collaboration with companies like TVnewmedia.com to work with the community to provide our students the opportunities to apply their skills and knowledge learned from our programs”.
The first season is ‘Wildlife Wranglers: Making Cougar Crossings'. It features candid behind the scenes footage from ‘Cougar Crossings', our coming of age film about orphan cubs, now airing in ten countries. It also involves us, reality TV style, as we raise a wolf pup to act in our new film. The series reveals the intimacy in the relationships between the cubs and people handling them.
This series is made by leading Albertan talent. Stunning visuals are cut by associate producer Rob Firlotte and editor Dennis Kambeitz of Post Express to score by Bruce Leitl and Alec Harrison of Six Degrees Music (other than library and title song Run by Tin Machine and David Bowie), mixed by Brad Belcher of GGRP. Also, associate producer Bruce Garrison, a financial advisor from Australia & US is involved. Many students have been employed.
‘Wildlife Wranglers' premieres during Calgary International Film Festival at Ranchmans gala, Wed. Sept. 29 (8pm); on ACCESS (Ch. 13/Calg, 9/Edm), Sun. Oct. 3 (6:30pm); and CLT/Canadian Learning Television (Ch. 70/AB), Tues. Dec. 7 (7pm/11 MST, 9pm/1am EST). Rights for youth channels, video, DVD, feature film and games are also now being negotiated.
